    SLU Students Set to Compete in Air Race Classic

    06/15/2026- A team of pilots from Saint Louis University will compete June 23-26 in the Air Race Classic, an annual all-woman, daylight-only race held each June. The SLU team includes Jocelyn Ciotti and Sydney Nimerick, who both graduated in May with degrees in aeronautics, along with rising sophomore Bella Castro. Ciotti and Nimerick are now flight instructors with SLU’s Flight School within the Parks Department of Aviation Science in the School of Science and Engineering.

    04/30/2026- Three Saint Louis University students and one recent alumnus have been awarded the highly competitive National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) for 2026. The fellowship recognizes outstanding academic achievement and the potential to make significant contributions to research and society.

    03/02/2026- The Saint Louis University community stocked Billiken Bounty's shelves by playing through a mini-golf course built from shelf-stable food items. The event provided nearly $2,200 in food and pantry items.

    02/05/2026- The third Golf and Give Innovation Challenge, led by Saint Louis University’s School of Science and Engineering and the Chaifetz Center for Entrepreneurship in the Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business, will offer the SLU community two days of miniature golf on campus while helping to stock the Billiken Bounty food pantry.

    01/27/2026- Saint Louis University researcher Vasit Sagan, Ph.D., a professor of geospatial science and computer science and associate vice president for geospatial science, will be honored by The Academy of Science - St. Louis with the George Engelmann Interdisciplinary Award for Collaborative Science Achievement.

    11/06/2025- Jenna Gorlewicz, Ph.D., who holds the Eugene Kranz Professorship for Excellence in Research in the School of Science and Engineering at Saint Louis University, has been chosen as one of the St. Louis Business Journal’s 40 Under 40.

    NSF Grant Funds New Industry-University Cooperative Research Center at Saint Louis University

    11/06/2025- Saint Louis University, along with The Ohio State University and Purdue University, will establish a new, innovative industry-university cooperative research center. A $2.25 million grant from the National Science Foundation will fund the launch of CAGE, the Center for Accurate Georeferencing of the Environment. SLU will receive $500,000 to support its campus operations.
